The Cinénova Clarté IW-C5 LCR speaker is one of Earthquake’s newest additions to the famous Cinénova family of high fidelity products.

The IW-C5 was designed to be mounted vertically or horizontally allowing it to be positioned for left, right, and center channels. This offers plenty of flexibility whether you are installing them for new or pre-existing home audio setups. Both OW-C5 and IW-C5 models feature a combination of three 5.25″ glass fiber cone woofers for distortion-free bass and four 2″ ultra-fast ribbon tweeters for remarkable sound quality with pinpoint accuracy. With Earthquake’s Cinénova Clarté LCR, you will hear more details in music and movies with elegant sound reproduction and tonal balance.

Cinénova Clarté In-Wall LCR Speaker

The following data was measured in an open space with only ground reflection. The distance between the speaker and the microphone was a 10 foot radius. Earthquake uses the 10 foot distance since it is closer to the normal listening position. Therefore, it has more use for the user. As you can see in the response, the speaker has low frequency offset to the left and high frequency offset to the right. This allows for more separation and dynamic stage presence.

Q: What kind of sound comes from these speakers, I.E. a forward sound/ neutral/ warm/ laid back?
A: These speakers are designed to have the same neutral, smooth and almost hyper dynamic sound as our Titan line of speakers. For many years hifi speakers have been trying to be as precise and detailed as possible without over emphasizing S sounds. These speakers using specially developed arrayed ribbon tweeters definitely advances the state of the art in that regard. The clarity really is uncanny.

Q: What kind of sound field do these speakers give out: narrow, normal, wide or very wide?
A: They produce a wide field, but as with any speaker you will have progressively more energy bleedoff as you go more off axis . But they will retain their tonal cohesion all the way to 120 degree off axis.

Q: Is there any difference between the IW speaker and the OW speaker regarding the sound?
A: No, they are identical. The only difference you will hear is the diffraction from the wall and associated infinite baffle effects of any in-wall speaker.

Q: Does the in-wall speaker need to have an inbox at the back?
A: The IW-C5 comes with a back box and grill, so you don’t need to build one yourself.

Q: Can the speakers be mounted horizontally rather than vertically, or will that compromise the sound?
