Luxury finishes
MiniMe V2 is covered in deep luxurious black piano lacquer. The cabinet finish begins with a thorough sanding and priming followed by multiple applications of black lacquer with additional fine sanding between layers. The cabinet is then finished with a smooth, high gloss clear coat. The elegant piano lacquer complements its compact modern design and in a sculptural way adds finesse and exclusivity to your home.

Excess Power
MiniMe V2 is equipped with an over sized 700-watt Class D amplifier. The advanced Class D technology has an efficiency of 90% which means that the amplifier does not get hot even with hard and continuous operation. Earthquake's unique Evolved Class D design is distinguished by high performance and superb bass control. Even the most complex source material is reproduced articulated and precise.

Stroke, dynamics and control
The XLT (Xtra Long Throw) woofer in MiniMe V2 effectively translates electrical energy into movement. The strong mechanical design is the result of radical over dimensioning of all components. The XLT motor structure allows extreme movement, without physical deformation or reduced reactive electromagnetic coupling.

The strong reactive electromagnetic coupling ensures that the device remains compression-less and the very mobile suspension will not slow it mechanically. The intelligent and robust design means that the woofer is always electrically controlled by the amplifier. The result is superior transient response and dynamics.

SLAPS - Patented superiority
SLAPS is how the ME-700 amplifier's high performance can be translated into dominating LFE. SLAPS is a patented system that dramatically increases subwoofer efficiency and capability for ultra low frequency reproduction.

SLAPS stands for Symmetrically Loaded Audio Passive System. As the name indicates SLAPS is built symmetrically which distinguishes it from traditional passive devices. SLAPS integrates identical components in its suspension and design ensuring the unit is moving identically in both directions. The revolutionary efficiency and performance are the result of the pneumatic coupling between SLAPS and the active driver. SLAPS overcomes the limitations known from conventional closed and ported designs that prevent radical excursion and deep response. The unique design allows the active driver compression free movement resulting in deep, dynamic and hard-hitting bass response.

In the V2 line the SLAPS has been upgraded to the newly designed SLAPS M Series. SLAPS M uses a doubled ring chassis that increases the distance between the inner and outer surround by over 3 cm. This combined with doubling the height of the surround, increases excursion potential 100 percent over the previous design. With less mechanical resistance at X-mech the sound remains dynamic, punchy and precise even at max excursion.

Detailed information on the built-in ME-700 amplifier
The MiniME V2 subwoofer amplifier (plate amp) is the market leader in power and quality. No subwoofer in its class offers more power and more features.

Developed and rationally produced in Earthquakes own factory enables high performance at this breakthrough low price.

The amplifier output section is built around Earthquakes Evolved Class D amplifier technology. It uses an efficient and base-optimized switch-routine yielding unusually powerful control over the high-emf XLT woofer. The amplifier is equipped with four high ampere discrete switching devices for high and continuous current.

No cheap monolith output modules here.
The oversized 640 watt Evolved class D amplifier has an efficiency of 90% which means that the amplifier does not get warm even in harsh and continuous operation. Earthquakes unique Class D design is distinguished by high performance and superb bass control. Even the most complex source material being reproduced accurately and articulated.

The power supply in the amplifier is based on Earthquakes Triple Triangle Constant Power Transfer Technology. It is an advanced industrial switch mode power supply technology inherited from Earthquakes military power supplies. It guarantees constant high performance even during extreme use, with minimal power loss and heat generation.

Q: How do I set the volume?
A: Each click on volume gives an increase of 1 db. It can be rotated a number of times and keeps turning even when you are at full power (because it’s digital). Start by (while it’s on) turning the volume nob 5 times clockwise, then you’re sure it’s at max. Then turn it down with one click at a time until you reach the desired level. Depending on the output power of your receiver, the max position can be optimal. If your receiver is optimized for full output at 0.75v, you can double the input sensitivity of the sub by using a y splitter.

Q: Is it normal for the amplifier to become warm?
A: The amplifier becomes warm, maybe even what feels hot to the touch. The human hand has a logarithmic sensitivity to temperature so already at 40/45 degrees it will feel like burning as to make you quickly pull the hand back and not get burned. But for electronics it’s still cool at 45 degrees. No matter how hard it is driven it should never be more than about 55 degrees hot.
